Biography:
Descriptions and praise of Jana Peterson's
work are as diverse as her personal and
professional background. She is
knowledged
as one of the most
versatile and prolific trend
setters of the new breed of contemporary
artists by creating striking images
ranging
from earthy abstractions, realism, portraiture,
to futuristic galactic visions. By fusing an
ardent
appreciation of the old Masters with
the bold and realistic imagery of high

technology, Jana Peterson is leaving an
impression on individuals as well as on
canvas. Peterson's work never fails to evoke
strong feelings. "The artist's role," according
to Peterson, "is to inspire the inner and often
private imagination of the observer. That can
include a guest in one's home,
a visitor to a
new city, or a high-pressured CEO of a large
corporation. Good art - effective art - opens
and expands the mind's eye. The fact that
painting and dancing can evoke emotion is a
continued
impetus to me as an artist."
Peterson is a recipientof a BFA in dance from
Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, an
AA in interior design from Scottsdale
Community College in Arizona and a Masters

Modern Dance Troupe and the Jose Limon
Company.
